Our cars are the Star-sky attractions

Our cars were the star attraction at a recent event, which fans of a certain cult American 70s cop show will instantly recognise. A less suitable vehicle for undercover work was hard to imagine but when a car looks this cool who cares, right?

Back in the real world, surveillance vehicles spend most of their time hidden in plain sight, so colours tend to be unremarkable; black, grey and silver are on-trend. A competent and experienced private investigator will be chameleon-like, undetectable and seemingly unworthy of a second glance. The most successful are the so-called grey men, the men and women who effortlessly blend into any environment without standing out, and this skill extends to the preparation of their surveillance vehicles.

Now this is closer to reality, in 70s downtown LA at least…

Only aficionados of that same cop show will recognise the more tired and battered Galaxie.

Look out for our cars at an upcoming event in London later in the year. Details will appear on our Twitter feed.

In the meantime, watch out for our grey men; their surveillance vehicles won’t be so conspicuous!

Personal Injury Surveillance – The Definitive Guide

£24.99

Expert Sam Greer examines the insurance industry’s use of surveillance in personal injury claims.

Personal injury insurance fraud is endemic. Often the default position of the besieged insurance industry, and its investigative supply chain, is not to view claimants as accident victims, but rather, potential fraudsters. Genuine personal injury claimants have a fundamental entitlement to fair treatment and justice. So too, insurers.

Personal Injury Surveillance is a unique guide, providing an insight into the hitherto undisclosed methodologies of personal injury surveillance and the systemic use of an unregulated profession to investigate accident victims. Surveillance is one of many tools used by the UK insurance industry to investigate the veracity of a personal injury claim; others include statistical analysis of claims data and complex algorithms with key fraud indicators, enabling insurers to get upstream of the issue and, in some cases, actually predict fraud before it occurs. However, there is nothing more compelling than surveillance evidence which is why it remains a fundamental element of the claims management process.
